At least six police officers died in a road mishap in India's northern hilly state of Himachal Pradesh on Friday after their vehicle was hit by a large boulder from the top of a hill, confirmed official sources.
The mishap occurred in the state's Chamba district when the policemen were proceeding with patrolling duties.
After being hit by the large boulder, the vehicle carrying the cops lost balance, skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge.
One local resident also died in the accident. Another local resident and three policemen were injured in the road mishap, said the sources.
Those injured were admitted to a local hospital.
