KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population is hosting the Nepal Health Conclave in Kathmandu on December 26-27 to bolster the country's healthcare system.
The two-day event aims to improve Nepal's health infrastructure by leveraging the knowledge, skills, and resources of Nepali Diaspora health professionals, in collaboration with local healthcare and public health workers.
According to the Ministry, the 2024 Nepal Health Conclave seeks to connect global expertise with national needs by fostering partnerships between Nepali Diaspora health professionals and local stakeholders.
With 1,000 participants registered from 90 countries, the event will take place under the theme "Connecting Diaspora for Healthcare Strengthening."
Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, the Ministry's spokesperson, mentioned that 300 participants will attend in person, while 700 will join virtually.
The Ministry expects the conclave to facilitate knowledge and technology exchange between Nepal’s medical Diaspora and local healthcare providers.
Dr. Budhathoki highlighted that the event will focus on fostering partnerships in research, innovation, and training, while shaping healthcare policies and strategies for long-term collaboration.
The conference will cover key themes such as global best practices in Diaspora engagement, e-health, advanced healthcare, policy dialogue, and sustained engagement in research, education, and innovation.
It is also expected to contribute to the development of the Nepal Medical Diaspora Engagement Framework.
