Nine people have been killed and 17 others seriously injured in a road accident in the far-western region during Dashain time.
According to Police Inspector Rajendra Bahadur Singh of the Far Western Provincial Traffic Police Office, Attaria, 15 vehicles have been involved in accidents in the province during the period. The highest number of vehicles reported in accidents are 11 motorcycles. There are jeeps, two cars, one tractor and one bus.
According to Jawan Mohan Bista of Traffic Police Post, Satbanjha, riders are responsible for reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, narrow roads and potholes. He said, "Everyone is in a hurry to reach to their destination on time during the festival. Bad road condition also leads to accidents."
