Balkot murder: Rupesh admits to killing father, younger brother

BHAKTAPUR: Kul Prasad Acharya, 56, and his youngest son Praveen Acharya, 22, who were found dead inside a rented room at Balkot of Surya Binayak municipality-2 had been allegedly killed by his eldest son. Rupesh Acharya has, before the police, confessed to killing his dad and brother in the night of Saturday.

The father, the permanent resident of Majhuwagadhi municipality- 2 in Khotang, was an officiating chief for the District Post Office, Khotang. He had come to Bhaktapur on December 13 to visit his sons. Following the crime, Rupesh was on the run and police arrested him today from Maharajgunj in Kathmandu, according to Senior Superintendent of Police, Sanuram Bhattarai. Rupesh is being interrogated in Bhaktapur.

Following the arrest, he was escorted to Bhaktapur where the killings occurred. During the preliminary investigation, Rupesh admitted to murdering the two due to their 'increased pressure' on him. Further investigations are on. After the incident, Rupesh left the room locking it from outside in the following morning on a scooter.
