The Drug Control Bureau of the police has arrested two foreigners from the Tribhuvan International Airport on the basis of special information that they are smuggling drugs through Nepal.
According to the police, the drug was found during the search of a suitcase brought by Kaputula, a Zimbabwean citizen who came to Kathmandu from Johannesburg, South Africa, via Qatar Airways in the first week of April. Seven kilograms of white heroin were found in his suitcase with a false bottom.
It is said that Lalanunpui from India, who had come to collect the drugs, was also arrested. The investigation is underway by extending the term of both of them as per the Drug Control Act 1976. The market value of the drug is Rs 140 million, according to the bureau.
