People who are going abroad and have already gotten their vaccination are now getting their vaccination certificates.
Teku Hospital is providing them certificates but as per the set of rules provided by many countries, workers need to get vaccination certificates with Quick Response (QR) code.
Now that the Nepali authorities are providing QR codes, people either have to register online or visit the National Research and Training Centre, Kirtipur
Mujahir Mansur, 24, a migrant worker, says he has already spent more than Rs 1,00,000 coming to Kathmandu, staying here while waiting for vaccination, and still has not completed the process. Mansur says, “I was told to come at 6 am on Thursday, but I was rejected as there are only limited numbers of tokens given each day.”
He adds that he got the token only on Saturday evening. However, the wait is not over, as Mansur informs, “It is already 12 pm on Sunday, but there is no certainty when my turn will come as my token number is 67. The hospital starts giving the verification card at 10 am and there are only two people working in the verification department. So, the process is very slow and he also has to go to Kirtipur for the QR code. ”
