The police have arrested the employees of the Immigration Department and Nepal Airlines on the charge of making fake documents and sending them abroad on visit visas.
The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office held a press conference in Kathmandu on Wednesday and announced the arrest of Immigration Department officer Narabir Khadka, Nepal Airlines officer Home Pokharel, and another fifth-level employee Arbin Yadav.
According to the police, they used to make fake documents in collaboration with travel agents and send them abroad on visit visas. Among those arrested, Narabir Khadka, an officer of the Immigration Department, was arrested while taking money through the setting of an agent, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office Govinda Panthi informed.
He said that to go to other countries through the visit visa, at least a 12th-grade certificate and two lakh rupees have to be shown in the bank.
Along with the arrest of the immigration and Nepal Airlines employees, the police have also started investigations on some other airlines. The police also said that 32 people have been arrested and are being investigated in the case.
