Local businessmen have blocked the road at Kaluwapur intersection of Kaluwapur-Belauri road section on Saturday after the road became very dusty. Entrepreneurs have blocked the road after it became difficult to operate vehicles due to dust on the road under construction.

"We have blocked the road due to the possibility of road accidents," said Dheeraj Karki, a motorist. "The road was blocked for an hour on Saturday. We will block the road for four hours from today."

He said that the road was blocked as the goods kept by Harisingh Seti, a businessman operating a shop in Kaluwapur Bazaar area, had started deteriorating due to dust and he could not stay in the shop. According to Karna Mahara, a local trader, the road was blocked due to repeated pleas for dust control at the ward office.

Local businessmen have demanded arrangements for sprinkling water on the roads to control dust. With the onset of windy weather, most of the roadside traders have been affected due to vehicles on the roads under construction. According to the businessmen, most of the respiratory problems have started showing signs due to the dust. The responsibility of road construction has been given to Thegim Construction.

A local businessman said, "The construction company has been ignoring [our demands]." Ward Chairman Dil Bahadur Budha said that the water was sprinkled for a few days when he asked the construction company to do so.

Narayan Kandel, an employee of the construction company, said that tanks were sent to sprinkle water. "Road construction has been halted due to lack of budget. The whole road may get flooded when water is pumped from a small tank," he said. "We will immediately provide more water, however."
