Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) has pointed out the problem of environmental pollution at the landfill site in Okharpauwa. This is NAST's second study. Earlier, Nast had submitted the study report.
"The current odor has been measured. We went to the top of the site and measured the odor on the east, west, central and south sides using an electrometer,” said NAST.
Nast's senior scientist Dr. Bhojraj Pant says, "The smell of garbage is a bit more on the east side of the site." The smell of methane gas was greater than that of garbage. There is less odor on the south side of the road as per the doctor.
