In order to provide passport services to the Nepali living in a European country, Portugal, a team from the Department of Passport, Kathmandu has arrived Portugal.
The department's team arrived in the capital of Portugal, Lisbon, on Wednesday, for the collection of applications for electronic passports. A team headed by section officer of the department Ranjeeta Dahal was welcomed by Non-Resident Nepali Association Portugal Chair Rabin Adhikari and representative of the consulate general office at the International Airport in Lisbon.
Meanwhile, the representatives of the Nepali Embassy in Paris, France Embassy as part of the team started providing passport service from Wednesday itself. In coordination with the honorary consulate general in Lisbon, the embassy team started providing the service from Anjos, Lisbon. Team member and third secretary of the Nepali Embassy in Paris, France Dipendra Prasad Saha informed us that 17 applications were collected for the passport service on Wednesday.
Nepal's Honorary Consul General for Portugal Makar Bahadur Hamal shared that service would be delivered on the basis of priority. "The team has put top priority on the cases of date expiry, damage, loss, and children born in Portugal", Hamal further informed. As many as 5,000 Nepali would receive service from the month-long passport service camp. The team would deliver services on all days up to April 25 except Saturday.
