Recently, the government has been criticized on social media for the demolition of the service lane of the Balkhu-Kalanki road. Questions are also being raised as to why the service lane of the recently constructed road was demolished.
However, the Division Road Office has said that the service lane has been demolished for the upgrading of the road. It has been reported that the surface has been damaged due to base failure in the 1 km road section of the service lane of the Kalanki Balkhu road section.
The division has informed that the study conducted by the consultant appointed by the road department has also recommended the rehabilitation of the damaged 1 km road section.
Accordingly, the division has informed that the said work is being done in connection with the rehabilitation.
