Expressing brief remarks on the occasion, Minister Khatiwada thanked the Government of Nepal and the people of Nepal for providing 1.3 million vaccines to France and Italy in this time of need and said that this assistance was an example of friendship between Nepal and the member states of the European Union.

"Today, the vaccines provided by France and Italy, and the vaccines previously provided by Germany, symbolize the EU's friendship with Nepal, reflecting the EU's commitment to global unity," he said.

Today, France has delivered 6,85,400 vaccines and Italy has delivered 6,63,600. The number of vaccines provided by EU member states has risen to 5.4 million, up from 4.1 million previously sent by Germany.
