The number of beneficiaries for the construction of temporary housing has reached almost 10,000 in Aathbiskot Municipality of Rukum Paschim district.
The number of beneficiaries needing support for the construction of temporary housing has reached 9,962 as per the details released by the municipality after a month of the November 3 earthquake that happened with its epicenter at Ramidanda of Jajarkot.
Acting Chief Administrative Officer of Aathbiskot Municipality Maniraj Shah said that the details were collected from all 14 wards of the municipality and the confirmed beneficiaries shall receive financial support for building temporary house.
Prior to this, a total of 4,500 beneficiaries from the municipality had taken Rs 25,000 each for the temporary building. According to Shah, remaining 5,462 beneficiaries shall receive the amount of the first tranche now.
However, the municipality has no record of the temporary houses built so far after the earthquake. So far, some temporary residences have already been constructed while most of the quake survivors are forced to live under the tarpaulins.
Mayor Rabilal KC said that efforts are ongoing to bring all the quake-hit people under the temporary housing by mid-December.
