In the last fiscal year, Beas Municipality has blacktopped 11 kilometers of roads. Dr Raju Poudel, Chief Senior Engineer, Ministry of Urban Development, informed that the municipality has paved roads in various placesover the year. According to him, 5.15 km of roads have been graveled, 7.05 km of new tracks have been opened and 74.85 km of roads have been upgraded and maintained in the same period.
The municipality has constructed 555 new taps, maintained 122 drinking water schemes and constructed and improved 25,100 sewers. He said that 1,500 meters of road has been tarred and 5,775 meters of canal has been completed so far. Beas Municipality has invested Rs 50 million and the federal government Rs. 50 million for the construction of Khadilkar road.
"The work of Khadilkar road has been completed after the tender was approved in the last fiscal year," said Dr. Poudel. "About 80 percent of the work has been done so far, ” he added.
Similarly, 667 m of road and 650 m of canal have been constructed in Damauli Keshavtarmarg. Eight hundred meters of road has been paved and 691 meters of canal has been constructed in Damauli Keshavtarmarg. In Kaminmarg, 865 m of road has been blacktopped and 425 m of canal has been constructed.
The municipality has also constructed and improved three lookout towers, two ethnic cultural museums, six homestays and four tourist footpaths in the same period, said Dr. Poudel.
