Police in Makawanpur district on Sunday afternoon arrested two persons in possession of 14gm of heroin from Ram Temple in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan-10. The police also seized Rs 386,250 from them.
The arrested have been identified as Hemganj Baniya (31) and Suresh Pariyar (34), both residents of the same sub-metropolitan in Makawanpur district.
Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Bhutandevi-based Police Office nabbed them with the substances and cash while they were peddling the drugs.
Similarly, police in Banke district on Sunday evening apprehended four persons in possession of 15kg cannabis from Mohanpur in Rapti's Sonari Rural Municipality.
One of the arrested has been identified as Gupta Bahadur BK (32), a resident of the same rural municipality in the district while the names of the other three have not been revealed.
They were riding in an auto-rickshaw with vehicle registration number BHE 1 HA 2715. Security personnel deployed from the Nepalganj-based Narcotics Control Bureau nabbed them with the substances during a routine vehicle check.
Meanwhile, police in Kanchanpur district on Sunday evening arrested a man in possession of 13.30gm of heroin from Belauri Municipality-8.
The arrested has been identified as Harikrishna Rana (30), a resident of the same municipality in Kanchanpur district.
Security personnel based at Belauri Area Police Office nabbed him with the substance during a routine check.
Similarly, Jhapa police on Sunday afternoon arrested a youth in possession of 4gm of heroin from Kamal Rural Municipality-3.
The arrested has been identified as Prajwol Baniya (22), a resident of the same rural municipality in the district.
Acting on a tip-off, Damak-based Area Police Office security personnel nabbed him with the substance while conducting a search in his house.
Similarly, Police in Ilam district on Sunday evening arrested four persons in possession of 5gm of heroin from Shankar Village in Mai Municipality-4.
One of the arrested has been identified as Mahesh Thapa (28), a local resident of the same municipality in the district while the names of the other three have not been revealed.
They were riding on two motorcycles with vehicle registration number PRA 1-013 PA 7222 and NA 32 PA 6919. Security personnel deployed from the Danabari-based Police Office nabbed them with the substances during a routine check.
Further investigation into the respective cases is underway, informed the police.
