12 Nepalese women who were forced to go abroad for foreign employment have been rescued.
The Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau said that 12 women who were taken to India in November and January were rescued from the Jaipur International Airport in Rajasthan.
According to Director of the Bureau, Senior Superintendent of Police Jeevan Kumar Shrestha, they were kept in Jaipur, India, with the temptation of taking them to Ethiopia for foreign employment on a visit visa through Dubai.
On the initiative of the Bureau, they were rescued in collaboration with the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi, Indian Police, social organisation (Help Cross India) and Peace Restoration Home in Nepal.
According to him, most of the rescued are married women in the age group of 31 to 40 years. Some of them have returned from overseas employment before. Jogwani, Kakadvitta, Jamunaha, Sunauli and other border crossings are used while transporting from Nepal to India. According to the Bureau's statistics, 214 women who were trafficked have been rescued in the last five years.
