Among those went missing with the sweeping away of two buses in landslide at Bharatpur metropolis-29, Simaltal in Chitwan on Friday morning, bodies of nine people were found in Nawalpur.
With this, bodies of 13 people have been found so far. Nine among them were recovered from Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), three from Chitwan and one from Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta West), said police.
Information Officer at the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta East), Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Bahadur Poudel shared that four bodies were found in the district today itself.
Out of nine recovered in Nawalpur, identities of the five deceased have been ascertained and it was confirmed that they were the passengers of the buses swept away by landslide.
Four bodies were found here today and their identities have yet to be ascertained. Saying that the bodies might be of those missing passengers, he added investigation was beign done accordingly.
The two bodies were recovered in Gandak Barrage Bridge and remaining two along the Narayani river bank at Madhyabindu-2.
Similarly, bodies of 19-year-old Ramit Kasur Majhi of Barahathawa municipality-3 (Sarlahi), Bikas Pariyar, 22, of Madi-1 (Chitwan), Sajad Ansari, 30, of Betiya of Bihar State, India, Rahum Miya, 17, of Jamunamai rural municipality-4 (Rautahat), Rishipal Sah, 28, of Sitamadi Barganiya, India, Jay Prakash Thakur, 30, of Sitamadi Betiya (India), Paramananda Pandit, 43, of Bara were recovered from three districts and sent to Bharatpur Hospital, added Poudel.
According to Chitwan Police, the landslide had swept away two buses with around 55 passengers on Friday morning. Of them, three passengers had narrowly escaped by swimming across the Trishuli river.
