The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Monday reported 150 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 276,056.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley has reported 84 new cases of coronavirus infection — 51 in Kathmandu, 22 in Lalitpur and 11 in Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours.
As many as 99 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 272,020 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Monday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.5 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.
The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached at 3,019 with three more deaths reported in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 1,017 active cases in Nepal.
More than 123.34 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,843,937 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 3:18 pm on Monday, March 22, 2021.
The World Health Organisation referred to it as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.
