Nepal Railway Company Limited has removed the employees appointed on daily wage without ensuring the operation of Janakpur Railway. The company has removed the employees who were hired on daily wage saying that the financial burden could not be borne by paying the salaries of the existing employees as the railway operation is still uncertain.
Guru Bhattarai, former general manager of the Nepal Railway Company, had hurriedly recruited 151 employees after he decided to step down. However, after Sher Bahadur Deuba became the Prime Minister, Niranjan Kumar Jha, who was appointed as the General Manager of Railways, removed the employees.
General Manager Jha issued the information and said, "the former manager said that Nepal Railway Company Limited would not provide any kind of service facility to the employees who are appointed on daily wage without showing up."
The KP Oli-led government had appointed Bhattarai as the managing director of the railway company. Bhattarai has been accused of embezzling large sums of money by recruiting staff without raising funds.
