A veterinary hospital has come into operation in Madi municipality of Chitwan district. The service of the hospital has been started at the Madi Animal Service Center building constructed by the Nepal Livestock Sector Innovation Project under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.
The Madi Veterinary Hospital is the first local-level veterinary hospital in Nepal, claims Mayor Thakur Dhakal. The animal service center constructed by the project at a cost of Rs. 9 million will have a well-organised laboratory, dung testing, and larva testing service, and water test of fish pond. Dhakal also shared that outpatient services, surgery and autopsy, and specialist services will also be provided.
The hospital will be staffed by a specialist in various diseases, including a veterinarian. According to Dhakal, the hospital is preparing to provide blood test, video X-ray, and culture services in the near future.
