The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Wednesday reported 2,077 new cases of coronavirus infection. With this, the COVID count has reached 650,162.
Likewise, the MoHP has recorded 15 deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The ministry on May 19 recorded 246 deaths, the highest daily number. As of Wednesday, the nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 9,291. Presently, there are 26,544 active cases in Nepal.
As many as 1,333 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. As of Wednesday, a total of 614,327 people have recovered from the viral disease, the data released by the MoHP showed.
Earlier, the MoHP on Tuesday had reported 1,718 cases of coronavirus infection that had taken the nationwide tally to 648,085.
As of Wednesday, a total of 3,391,379 persons have undergone the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. Presently, there are 26,544persons staying in isolation while 323 others have been placed in quarantine in the country.
More than 184.64 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 4,150,000 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, Global COVID-19 Statistics released by the Reuters showed as of Wednesday, July 7, 2021.
Likewise, So far, at least 198 countries have begun vaccinating people for the coronavirus and have administered at least 3,241,210,000 doses of the vaccine.
