Two dead bodies of human and parts of a crashed helicopter have been recovered during a clean-up campaign under the Mountain Cleanup Campaign. The dead bodies and crashed helicopter (91-ACR) parts were found on Wednesday near the Italy Base Camp, one kilometre away from the Dhaulagiri Base Camp, said the Directorate of Public Relations and Information, the Nepali Army.
Equipment used for climbing the mountain was also recovered. The identity of the recovered dead bodies is yet to be established. The helicopter is said to have been crashed in 2006, according to a preliminary investigation by the NA. The investigations of the dead bodies are underway in coordination with the concerned sector.
The NA team deployed for the campaign to clean up six mountains including Mount Everest (Sagarmatha) has coordinated with the local government, concerned organisations and local people. So far, since the campaign was launched on April 25, a total of 1,154 kilograms of garbage was collected, said the NA.
