A total of 260 fugitives convicted by the court have been arrested. The District Police Office, Chitwan has arrested the fugitives after convicting them in various cases.
These fugitives have all been arrested and handed over to the court in the first seven months of the current fiscal year. According to Narahari Adhikari, information officer of the office, the arrested people are involved in illegal forest related activities, drugs, government seal, signature theft, killing, extortion, looting and rape. Some were also arrested on charges of murder, theft, fraud, banking offense and drug offenses.
During the execution of the verdicts, the office has also sentenced them to a total of 87 years 8 months & 23 days imprisonment and fined them Rs 13,416,179. According to the official, they were arrested on the basis of a letter from the court seeking their arrest.
