The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Monday reported 266 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 278,210.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley has reported 137 new cases of coronavirus infection — 98 in Kathmandu, 26 in Lalitpur and 13 in Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours.
As many as 102 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 273,342 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Monday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.3 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.
The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 3,036 with the death of two persons from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and reports of the death of four others. Presently, there are 1,832 active cases in Nepal.
Earlier, the MoHP on Sunday had reported 176 new cases of coronavirus that had taken nationwide tally to 277,944.
More than 131.39 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,993,696 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 3:13 pm on Monday, April 5, 2021.
The World Health Organisation referred to it as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.
