50,500 households are at risk from floods and landslides in the district. The meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee has made the data public.
According to District Disaster Preparedness and Response Planning Consultant Balram Luintel, more than 200,000 people in seven municipalities of the district will be affected by the rains. It is seen that Bharatpur Metropolitan City will be more affected by the floods. He informed that 30,000 families in Bharatpur Metropolitan City will be affected.
Similarly, 4,500 families of Madi Municipality, 5,000 families of Ratnanagar, 1,050 families of Kalika Municipality, 320 families of Khairhani Municipality and 11 families of Rapti Municipality will be affected. Similarly, 300 families of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, 100 families of Kalika, 200 families of Rapti and 125 families of Ichchakamana have been affected by the landslide, according to the District Disaster Management Committee.
Chief District Officer Ashman Tamang has urged us to be vigilant as the danger of floods and landslides has increased. He said, “The risk has increased due to Narayani and Rapti rivers. We are preparing for risk reduction. ” He said that the security forces have been instructed to remain vigilant for the rescue operation.
