The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Sunday reported 89 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 276,839.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley has reported 65 new cases of coronavirus infection — 52 in Kathmandu, seven in Lalitpur and six in Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours.
As many as 95 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 272,530 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Saturday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.44 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.
The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 3,027 with three more deaths reported in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 1,282 active cases in Nepal.
More than 126.78 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,904,831 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 04:17 pm on Sunday, March 28, 2021.
The World Health Organisation referred to it as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.
