90 percent adults vaccinated in Chitwan

Ninety percent of those over 18 years of age in the Chitwan district have been vaccinated against COVID-19. 370,544 people have been vaccinated in the district with a population of 400,000.

According to the health office, 320,000 people have been fully vaccinated. According to Deepak Prasad Tiwari, head of the office, 40,443 people have applied Covishield, 237,602 got Vero cell, 51,962 got AstraZeneca, 1,867 got Pfizer, and 38,670 Johnson.

Similarly, 82,853 people have been fully vaccinated with Covishield/AstraZeneca, 196,729 with Vero cell, 38,670 with Johnson, and 1,757 with Pfizer. The number of the first dose applied but the second dose that has not been applied is around 20,000.

Lately, vaccination program has been conducted in the district as a campaign. All the municipalities of the district have made arrangements for vaccination one day per week. According to the office, arrangements have been made for everyone above 18 years of age to be vaccinated.

In the case of those going abroad, after showing the visa, the concerned municipality has made an arrangement to vaccinate them with the Johnson vaccine. He said that the number of people going abroad is also high.

The population of the district is estimated to be around 400,000. In this regard, the remaining number of vaccines seems to be low. However, the number of people coming to the district for business, study, and work is high.

The head of the office said, "Lately, there have been more students, workers, and laborers from outlying districts coming here for vaccination." That is why the vaccination program has been launched as a campaign, said Tiwari. Stating that there is no shortage of vaccines, he said, "There is no shortage of vaccines in the district. Vaccines are coming on time as per the demand." He informed that the vaccine has been delivered within the short time of the last demand.
