Absconding murderer arrested after six years in Kathmandu

Metropolitan Crime Division on Wednesday arrested a man who had allegedly been absconding after killing his friend nearly six years ago in Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)-10. 

Police identified the arrestee as Bhime Sarki (54) of Kafle Tole in Gokulganga Rural Municipality-4 of Ramechhap district. Sarki had been living in a rented room in Kumaripati, Lalitpur. 

Sarki has been accused of killing his friend Drona Bahadur Sen of Tulsipur Municipality-10 in Dang. Sen had been living in a rented room in Thapagaun, New Baneshwor.

According to police, in a dispute, Sarki had allegedly pelted Drona Bahadur Sen with a brick critically injuring his head before he fled the scene. Subsequently, police had found the body of Sen from the incident site. The incident took place at the underpass of Simrik Bridge over Dhobi Khola in KMC-10, on March 23, 2015.

Sarki had been absconding after he allegedly killed his friend. Police informed that Sarki had been hiding in Rajasthan, India. 

Acting on a tip-off that Sarki had returned from India, a team deployed from Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested the absconding murderer on Wednesday nearly after six years, informed police.

Meanwhile, the MCD has handed over the case to New Baneshwor-based Metropolitan Poice Circle for further investigation into the incident.
