An accused involved in the murder of Musafir Jha and his wife Geeta Devi of Pipra Rural Municipality 5 of Mahottari has been arrested after two years. The arrested person is 72-year-old Tejnarayan Jha, who absconded after the incident. DSP Santosh Pokharel informed that he was arrested from the Nepal-India border in Jhapa's Mechinagar Municipality-6.
According to him, Jha, who was arrested, worked as a priest in Guwahati city of India, and used to go home from time to time through the Kakadvitta crossing. On the basis of confidential information, the Central Bureau of Investigation has succeeded in
arresting him with the help of Maharajganj, Kathmandu.
On February 11, 2077, the Jha couple was kidnapped from their home. During an extensive search, the skeleton was found buried in the condition of having been killed and buried in a sack on 12 Chait 2077 on the road from Pipra to Matihani located in Pipra Rural Municipality-2.
It is alleged that Kailash Jha, Rambabu Yadav, Surendra Yadav, Rajinder Yadav alias Rajendra, Harendra Thakur, Tej Narayan Jha, Tara Devi Jha, Bablu Kumar Jha alias Bikas are also involved in the incident. 7 people have been arrested for being involved in the incident.
Tejnarayan was absconding. Out of those arrested, three have been sent to jail on the orders of the Mahottari District Court, while four have been released on
bail.
