During a special ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Thursday, Nepalese Ambassador to the United Kingdom Gyan Chandra Acharya presented Queen Elizabth II with a certificate of office. The Queen, who understood the credentials submitted by Acharya through virtual media, expressed hope that relations between the two countries would be further improved during the tenure of the newly appointed ambassador.
During the address, the Queen said that her two-time visit to Nepal was memorable and that Nepal was naturally beautiful, according to the embassy.
On the occasion, Ambassador Acharya conveyed a message of good wishes from the President of Nepal, Bidyadevi Bhandari, and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to the Queen and the people of the United Kingdom.
On the occasion, he expressed his happiness over the 200th anniversary of the UK-Nepal relationship and thanked the UK for its assistance to Nepal in the COVID-19 epidemic and hoped for further assistance in the future, said Embassy Spokesperson Roshan Khanal.
