Non-Resident Ambassador of Nepal to the Republic of Finland, Prof. Dr. Ram Swarth Ray, presented his Letters of Credence to President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, amidst a special ceremony held at The Presidential Palace of Helsinki, Finland.
Following the credential ceremony, Ambassador Ray held tete-a-tete with the President.
During the meeting, the Finnish President congratulated Ambassador Ray on his appointment as Ambassador and wished him a successful tenure, reads a press release issued today by Nepali Embassy in Copenhagen.
On the occasion, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President of Nepal, Ramchandra Paudel, and the Prime Minister of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal to Finaland's President for his personal health and happiness and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Finland.
Expressing happiness over the friendly relations existing between Nepal and Finland, Ambassador Ray thanked the Government and people of Finland for their continuous support to Nepal in its effort to socio-economic development.
He expressed his confidence that the friendly relations between the two countries will continue to strengthen in the days ahead and expressed commitment to continuously work for it.
The Ambassador also briefed about major political and economic developments in Nepal and thanked the Government of Finland for being a partner of Nepal to its economic and social developments.
Similarly, Ambassador Ray, during the visit, held a meeting with Deputy Director General Juha Niemi, Department for America and Asia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Finland and discussed matters relating to bilateral cooperation and bilateral interests, according to the statement.
