Hundreds of years old artifacts of great importance have been stolen from Indrayani temple in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-4. According to local cultural and dance guru Arjun Shrestha, the items in the temple store were stolen by breaking two locks.
He informed that hundreds of years old musical instruments were stolen from the temple store. He also said that old conch shells, statues and other items of the temple were stolen.
Narhari Regmi, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi, said that hundreds of years old musical instruments and other items were stolen from the temple.
A few days ago, the lamps in the temple of Raj Ganesh of Inalakshi in Ward No. 4 were stolen. According to cultural guru Shrestha, the burglars have not been arrested yet. He suspects that gangs stealing idols and valuables from temples in Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and other places may have been active in recent times.
