American citizen Kevin Wesley Phillips, who was about to depart from Kathmandu to Delhi, India by Vistara Air flight, was arrested with illegal foreign currency. While checking at the departure hand baggage checking area of the Tribhuvan International Airport, he illegally concealed US$ 38,000 and Sri Lankan Rupees 2,69,350.
Similarly, Indian citizen Shivam Kumar Saini, who was about to depart from Kathmandu to Delhi by Air India flight, was caught with 9,000 dollars. During the check, he was found and arrested while hiding 9,000 US dollars. They have been sent to Revenue Investigation Department, Harihar Bhavan Pulchok, Lalitpur for necessary investigation and legal action.
