It has been found that the government office in Bhaktapur has not implemented the Right to Information effectively.
A meeting of the Information Officer of the government office in the district chaired by the Chief District Officer on October 25 decided to fully implement the right to information but it was found that it could not be implemented effectively.
The meeting had decided to publish the information including the progress report of each office in three months as per sub-sections 3 and 4 of section 5 of the Right to Information Act 2064 and rule 3 of the rules 2065. However, the decision has not been implemented so far.
A meeting of information officers of government offices in the district chaired by Chief District Officer Rudra Devi Sharma reviewed the decisions taken in the past and gave additional instructions for effective implementation of the Right to Information Act, said Assistant Chief District Officer Sita Pariyar. "Past decisions were reviewed at the meeting. Additional instructions have been issued after finding that the decision has not been implemented due to various reasons”, he said.
The meeting decided to prepare the details of the fiscal year 2078/79 from July to December and make them public on the website, information board, and official social network of their respective offices and provide the information to the District Administration Office, said Assistant Principal Pariyar.
He said that a decision has also been taken to prepare a three-month report of the demand and flow of information in the district in coordination with the district post office and to make the work of the information officer efficient.
