A function was organized today in Sikkim, India on the occasion of 209th Bhanu Jayanti. Sikkim Chief Minister Premsingh Tamang Gole, Sikkim Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya, Speaker, Ministers and various dignitaries attended to pay homage to Great Poet Bhanubhakta Acharya at Bhanu Udyan, Gangtok.
At that time it was informed that the government of Sikkim was continuously supporting poets and writers to publish their novels and poems. Chief Minister Gol has informed that the Apatan fellowship scheme has also been started and the scholarship program can be taken by people who want to do Ph.D in local languages including Hindi.
Besides celebrating Bhanu Day, he emphasized on the need to work collectively to protect and promote culture, language, literature and tradition by imbibing his teachings and promoting them for the next generation.
