Bhimphedi-Kulekhani-Kathmandu road section is reopening for vehicular movement from coming Wednesday.
It has been closed for the past two months for maintenance and blacktopping. A budget of Rs 340 million was earmarked for the project.
A budget of Rs 180 million was allocated for the maintenance and blacktopping of the eight-kilometre road from Bhimphedi to Deurali Bhanjyang while Rs 160 million was appropriated for the 7.5-km section from Deurali Bhanjyang to Kulekhani.
According to Director of Bagmati Province Transport Infrastructure Directorate, Sahadev Bhandari, the road stretching from Bhimphedi to Hevychaur has been expanded as part of the project.
Works are also progressing in the widening drive of the road from Sisneri to Dakchhinkali of Kathmandu, he said.
