The district is preparing to give booster doses to about 25,000 people working in the front line within this year.
The health office is preparing to give booster vaccines in the first phase only to those who have been vaccinated against corona by mid-July last year. According to Chudamin Luintel, statistic officer at the Health Office, Jhapa, both doses are being prepared to give booster doses to 8,840 people wearing cove shields and about 15,000 people wearing veroshields. He said that those who have been vaccinated first will be given the same vaccine as a booster dose. As per the target of vaccinating one million people in the district, four lakh 72 thousand 729 people have been vaccinated in the first dose, and three lakh 88 thousand 781 people have been vaccinated in both doses.
Currently, the vaccination of people above 18 years of age is in full swing in all 15 municipalities of the district. Luintel said that an additional 60,000 doses of vaccine have been demanded from the Ministry of Health to give a booster dose in the district. Booster dose will be given only to those who have reached 6 months of age.
