Construction of a concrete bridge over the Karnali river at Naraharinath Rural Municipality-1 in Kalikot district linking Hilsa, Humla district has been completed after nine years. The bridge was supposed to be completed within one year after construction agreements in 2067 BS.
Kankai Nepal Pragati JV won around 140 million contracts to construct the bridge. The bridge will come into operation within one month, said the contracting company operator, Dipak Mainali. "All construction work has been completed," he added.
Without a bridge, people in the locality had to cross the river through ferry which is very risky. With the construction of the bridge transportation will be available easily to people of five villages of Kakikot district, Bajura district, Mugu and Humla district, said Raskot Municipality Mayor Kashi Chandra Baral.
