The Nepal Calendar Determination Committee has urged the concerned sides to take their approval prior to the publication of the calendar and wall calendar.
A press statement issued by Committee’s Executive Director Surya Prasad Dhungel on Wednesday noted the provision that it was mandatory to take permission from the committee before publishing the calendar and wall calendar following the cabinet decision (Executive Order) of 4 January 2021 regarding the formation and operationalization of the committee.
The committee has requested the concerned sides to not publish a calendar without permission as it may vary the dates of festivals and public holidays in lack of coordination. According to the committee, market monitoring is now underway to ascertain whether any wrongdoings are made to this effect.
The press release further stated that calendars and wall calendars published without permission to serve the objective of misinforming society would be seized during monitoring and those guilty would be taken action accordingly.
Executive Director Dhungel said one can contact the committee’s office at Narayanhiti in Kathmandu or dial-up 984168889 if further information is required in this regard. The market monitoring is taking place to regulate the calendar the first time after the formation of the committee with the executive order.
