Camp for renewing social security allowances in Kailali

The Tikapur Municipality of Kailali conducted a camp from July 19 to 20 to renew the details of social security allowance. Beneficiaries of social security allowances has to be renewed annually in each ward where the locals could afford it and the ward office was very crowded. According to the social security and registration sub-branch of the municipality, more than 2,000 people have not renewed their allowances.

As reported, the allowance details of 2,176 people are yet to be updated.

In Ward No. 1, 883 have not updated their allowance details yet. Similarly, 311 in Ward No. 2, 99 in Ward No. 3, 73 in Ward No. 4, 188 in Ward No. 5, 134 in Ward No. 6, 110 in Ward No. 7, 284 in Ward No. 8 and 31 in Ward No. 9 Allowances have not been renewed.

Municipal Registration Sub-Branch MIS Operator Kushmakhar Jaishi said that the renewal period of the allowance is till mid-August. "We have informed the beneficiaries to go to the ward office by mid-August to renew the allowance. If there is any exemption, we will not be responsible for it," said Jaishi. 

He said that some people are deprived of the facility due to updating the allowance form and opening a bank account. "We have also requested the new beneficiaries to register their bank accounts at the registration sub-branch of the municipality by August 30," he said.

9 thousand 30 people have been receiving social security allowance in the municipality. Of these, 3,990 are senior citizens, 852 are single women, 1,595 are widow beneficiaries, 96 are people with complete disabilities, 374 are severely disabled, 1,118 are Dalit children and 91 are endangered race.
