The Lumbini Development Trust has received medical supplies worth 4 million rupees as aid from the Leshan Giant Buddha Area Management Committee in the Sichuan province of China. At the request of LDT, the Leshan municipality people's government has donated 15 sets of oxygen concentrators, 50 thousand surgical masks, 2,000 PPE sets, and 2,000 medical goggles.
The goods arrived in Kathmandu on a chartered flight on Friday, according to Chief Administrative Officer of the Trust Gyanin Rai.
Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha has established sister relations with the Leshan Giant Buddha Area in the Sichuan province of China. Both are UNESCO world heritage sites.
The giant statue of Buddha carved out on a hilly is regarded as the world's biggest stone statue of Buddha.
