Four solar borings have been constructed in the dry area of Chitwan National Park to serve water to the wildlife.
Two solar borings have been constructed at Sukhibhara, one at Dumariya and one at the Arna Phant area.
Information Officer of the National Park, Lokendra Adhikari, said that around Rs 700,000 has been spent for the construction of the solar borings along with a pond.
There are altogether 174 rhinos in the Sukhibhar area while 63 at Dumariya and Arna Phant area.
Adhikari shared, “Arrangement of water has been made for wildlife including rhinos during the summer season.”
The solar borings would serve water to the wild animal. Cleanliness and maintenance of 35 old ponds located inside the park were also been carried out this year.
Adhikari added that 16 new ponds have been constructed. A total of Rs 3.5 million has been spent on old ponds while Rs 3.2 million on new ones.
Chief Conservation Officer of the Park, Ananath Baral, said that they have laid emphasis on the arrangement of water in dry regions with the increase in the number of rhinos.
