Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Trilochan Bhatta has reaffirmed his commitment to forging a partnership and collaboration with the Town Development Fund for the overall development of the Sudurpaschim Province.
At a workshop organized by the Fund on finances and capacity building at Dhangadhi today, CM Bhatta asserted that development works were not making any headway due to disproportionate distribution of the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission.
On the occasion, Nepal Municipalities Association Chairperson Ashok Byanju Shrestha underscored cooperation among the three-tier governments and they acknowledge each other's existence to take forward development works.
Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Mayor Nripa Bahadur Od spoke of the need for the Town Development Fund to play the role of a mediator among the three-tier governments and play an effective role to arrange basic infrastructure in the urban areas.
Fund's executive director Krishna Prasad Sapkota assured its assistance for increasing investment for the Fund and augmenting internal resources.
During the workshop, discussions would be held on various topics including Fund's four-year plans, its professional promotion and procedure, methods of mobilizing alternative financial resources, among others.
Mayors of 34 municipalities in the Province and representatives from various local units have been participating in the workshop.
