Commercial flights will start from Bhairahawa-based Gautam Buddha International Airport on 16th June.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has fixed the date of commercial flights from the airport for the upcoming Buddha Purnima.
According to NEA Director-General Pradip Adhikari, a committee has been formed to run the airport commercially. He said that the committee has been given the responsibility to operate flights within the stipulated time.
Calibration flights will start from this airport on Friday. A Euro Thai ship arrived in Nepal from Thailand on Thursday for a calibration flight. Then there will be a test flight. He said that a commercial flight will be prepared after the test flight.
