A writ petition has been filed against the latest expansion of the Council of Ministers by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. A complementary writ has been filed at the Supreme Court today against the expansion of the Cabinet even after the apex court had issued a show cause notice to the government on the writ filed against the Cabinet reshuffle the first time.
A writ petition was filed at the Supreme Court by Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi after the government had reshuffled the Cabinet for the first time after President Bidhya Devi Bhandari dissolved the House of Representatives and announced the dates for mid-term elections on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers on May 22.
The apex court had issued a show cause notice to the government on the writ petition filed against the first Cabinet reshuffle. However, even during this period PM Oli expanded the Cabinet on June 10. The complementary writ has been filed against the second reshuffle, explained Tripathi.
