Corona infection has been confirmed in far western states, in those people who were on the way back from India. Corona infection has been reported in another person here. A test of 216 people on Friday confirmed the infection in one person. According to the Health Directorate, a person from Kailali, who was returning home from Gauriphanta, was infected with the virus at the border. According to the Directorate, Corona was spotted in another state 18 days after May 17.
Vigilance has been adopted at border checkpoints with India following the rise in corona infection. Testing is still going on at the border checkpoints as per the precaution. Corona testing is underway at Gaddachauki, Gauriphanta, Jhulaghat and Pulghat checkpoints in the state. Chief of the Health Office, Yogesh Prasad Bhat, informed that corona is being tested in all those entering from India by setting up a health desk at the border. He said that tests were being carried out at the border as people were still being found infected in India and that could increase the risk in Nepal as well.
Meanwhile, in the far west, 541,907 people have been tested for corona, 59,647 have been infected and 633 have died so far.
