The number of Coronavirus infections is rising in the district for the past few days. According to the District COVID-19 infection control, prevention, and treatment centre, 23 new infections were reported on Friday.
Since the past few days, Nepal is witnessing a spike in COVID infections with an average of 2000 cases a day. The Health Ministry has also projected Nepal’s COVID-19 cases to surpass 600,000 with daily cases of more than 11,000 by the next three months
The number was 19 on Thursday and 11 on Wednesday and six on Tuesday. The total number of active cases in the district is 82 including 43 men, according to the centre.
"The number of infections is witnessing a steady growth and hence special precaution needs to be observed," said the chief of the District Health Office, Dr Nagendra Kumar Jha. The infections on Friday included four-year-old child to 81 years old.
More than 3,450 people have been infected in the district so far, with 45 deaths. Among the 13 local levels, Dhulikhel municipality has reported the highest number of infections with 26 following by 15 in Panauti and 14 in Banepa municipalities. Three of the local levels Khanikhola, Mahabharat and Bethanchowk have not reported any infections.
