DAO urges all to follow COVID protocols

The District Administration Office, Manang has urged all to be vigilant for the control of the new COVID variant 'Omicron'.

Chief District Officer Rabindra Acharya informed that the recommendation of Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) and the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs to prevent, control and treat the new variant of Covid-19 more effective. In view of the growing contagion of COVID-19, it has been requested that everyone should wear a mask when going out of the house or in a public place.

Similarly, the administration has issued an order to make arrangements for holding all kinds of political and public events in public places, administrative and social programs to be conducted only after obtaining permission of the local administration and following the safety protocols.

The notice also states that the administration has banned any kind of fair, gathering, and social gathering with more than 25 people. All government, public, non-government, bank, and financial institutions in the district are requested to provide services through rotation or token system without any congestion. It is mentioned in the notice of the administration that admission in public places (offices, hotels, restaurants, air travel parks, etc.) should be made only by looking at the vaccination card.

According to the recommendation of CCMC, as per the notification of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, the classes will be closed till January 21. The notice also said that the public transport should not carry more passengers than the sanctioned seat capacity and all passengers, drivers and co-drivers should wear masks and vehicles should be sanitized on a daily basis.

The administration has stated that there will be regular and contingency monitoring by the security agencies to adopt appropriate health precautions to avoid the possible third wave of COVID-19.
