Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka has said that the interactions on sensitive issues like national security at the strategic level of the Nepali Army would help explore the current status and challenge of the country's security.
Addressing the two-day Division Commander's Coordinating Conference-2080 at Army Headquarters on Thursday, the Defence Minister said that Nepali Army is effectively doing its job of safeguarding and promoting national independence, sovereignty, geographical indivisibility and national unity in coordination with other agencies.
He also praised the achievements and fame achieved from NA's contributions made at national and international areas through the disaster response, ecological protection, development works and others.
On the occasion, Defence Minister Khadka also praised the initiatives taken by the NA for cyber space security.
Likewise, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed the confidence that the NC would complete the Kathmandu-Tarai/Madhes Fast Track Road Project in the given deadline by meeting due process and quality.
He said that the NA would consider the key national security threat to the elements of those trying to create an environment of fear and terror by pushing the country to the abyss of instability by destabilizing nationality and national unity.
Khadka also drew attention of the stakeholders to carry out a minute study of those trying to destabilize the religious and social harmony existing between us for centuries.
On the occasion, Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma said that the NA was always accountable to the government and Nepali citizens and was discharging its responsibility accordingly.
