Demand to connect Belwas-Bethari road to highway

Voters of Butwal-13 have demanded to connect Belwas-Bethari road section to the suspension bridge of Belwas.

Though Velwas is connected with the name of Velwas-Vethari road section under construction as a tourist route, the road has been extended only up to Naharpur and they have requested to connect it to Belwas Jholungepul Chowk on the East-West Highway.

Locals have demanded the UML mayoral candidate Baburam Bhattarai to extend the Belwas-Vethari tourist road from Naharpur Chowk to the highway as the construction of the road is nearing completion. They have demanded to connect the road from Gautam Buddha International Airport to Pokhara via Butwal, historic Nuwakotgadhi and Palpa.

They demanded construction of open gymnasiums in all the tolls of the ward, allocation of adequate budget for water gardens, and provision of employment for at least one member of the impoverished family. Similarly, they have demanded to make the social security allowance program more systematic as it is very effective. Voters also demanded for regular health check-ups for the elderly and creation of an open recreation area for them. He also urged candidate Bhattarai to bring programs that would provide collective income through collective investment in Toltol.

Addressing the demands of the voters, candidate Bhattarai said that the issues raised by the locals have been made public by transcribing them in the manifesto and expressed happiness that his manifesto matched the wishes of the general electorate. He said that the issue of connecting Belwas-Bethari road section with the highway would be addressed soon.

On the occasion, UML Deputy Chief Candidate Sabitra Aryal expressed her commitment to work according to the wishes of the people. Shobhakhar Pokharel, a candidate for the post of ward chairman from Butwal-13, expressed his commitment to fulfill the aspirations of the people of the ward with sincerity keeping good governance in mind.
